The Buying Process
Research & Search
The first step is exploring what type of boat suits your needs. Consider how you plan to use the boat — holidays, weekends, or full-time living — along with factors such as length, layout, and budget. Our brokerage listings and knowledgeable team can help you narrow down the options and find boats that match your requirements.
Viewing
Once you’ve identified boats of interest, the next step is
arranging a viewing. This gives you the chance to explore the boat’s layout,
condition and features in person. Our team will be on hand to answer questions
and provide honest advice so you can make an informed decision.
Making an Offer
When you find the right boat, you can make an offer through our brokerage team. We will present your offer to the seller and negotiate on your behalf if needed. Once an offer is accepted and the deposit paid, the boat is taken off the market while the next steps are arranged.
Survey?
Many buyers choose to commission an independent survey before completing the purchase. A survey can provide reassurance about the boat’s condition and identify any work that may be required. While not mandatory, we would definitely recommended it, particularly for first-time buyers.
Contract & Payment
Once you’re satisfied and ready to proceed, the purchase is completed through a formal sales contract in accordance with ABYA guidelines. Payment is made securely through our brokerage client account, ensuring a safe and straightforward transaction for both buyer and seller.
