When Calcutt Boats first set sail into the hire world, our founders took inspiration from book, ‘The Complete Herbal’ by Nicholas Culpeper. 

Our very first hire boat was Tormentil, followed by Mint… and from there a new tradition blossomed — a fleet of herbal heroes cruising the canals!
